Size & Fit Guide
Size & Fit Guide
The right size makes all the difference to how a watch looks and feels. Use this guide to understand the key measurements and find your ideal fit.
Case diameter
Case diameter is the width of the watch case, measured in millimetres, excluding the crown. As a general guide, smaller wrists tend to suit cases around 36–40mm, while larger wrists can carry 42mm and above. Personal preference matters just as much as measurement.
Lug-to-lug
Lug-to-lug is the distance from the top lug to the bottom lug — the part of the case that the strap attaches to. This often matters more than diameter for fit, as it determines whether the watch sits neatly on your wrist without overhang.
Case thickness
Thickness affects how the watch wears and whether it slips easily under a cuff. Slimmer cases feel more discreet and dressy; thicker cases have more presence and are common in sports and complicated watches.
Measuring your wrist
Wrap a soft tape measure, or a strip of paper marked and then measured against a ruler, around your wrist where you would wear the watch. Note the measurement in millimetres — this helps you judge case size and bracelet length.
Bracelets and straps
Metal bracelets are usually sized by adding or removing links so the bracelet sits comfortably without sliding. Leather, rubber and fabric straps are sized by the holes or by strap length. [INSERT: state whether Vaultier offers a bracelet sizing or link-adjustment service, if applicable.]
